As part of the government delegation’s visit from the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Chechen Republic, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov participated in the First Caucasus Investment Forum in Grozny city. At the event, Mr. Kudratov stressed the significance of promoting interregional collaboration between Uzbekistan and Russia in order to reach the goal of increasing trade turnover to $30 billion, as set by the leaders of both countries. It is worth noting that the Russian Federation is a crucial trade and economic partner for Uzbekistan, with trade turnover between the two countries growing 2.5 times in the past seven years and reaching nearly $10 billion by the end of 2023. The structure of mutual supplies is also changing, with a focus on high-value products. The development of new joint industrial zones, increasing joint financing tools, expanding cooperation in tourism, agriculture, and cultural and humanitarian spheres are all key areas for partnership growth. The Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, led by the two countries’ leaders, plays a vital role in this effort. The minister emphasized the need to take comprehensive measures to enhance interregional interaction capabilities on this platform in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia. He also encouraged representatives from Russian regions and businesses to take advantage of the vast opportunities in Uzbekistan for successful implementation of new mutually beneficial projects and initiatives.
