Uzbekistan’s delegation, led by Abdugani Sanginov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, visited China.
A meeting was held at the headquarters of China Southern Power Grid International in Guangzhou to discuss the progress of the cooperation between the two countries and to discuss future tasks. Special attention was given to investment projects for the construction of Upper Pskem and Khodjikent HPPs.
The Upper Pskem HPP project is almost ready for implementation, with construction set to begin in March. This will be the first pumped storage power plant in Central Asia, with an official foundation stone laying ceremony scheduled for March 10.
The construction of Khodjikent HPP is also planned to start this year. Both projects are crucial for the country’s electricity supply and will help meet the demand for eco-friendly electricity.
A Joint Development Agreement was signed during the visit.
