The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives from China Everbright Environment Group Limited. During the meeting, the guests were briefed on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s waste recycling system, unresolved issues, investor opportunities, and guaranteed benefits. The company representatives expressed their admiration for the reforms and offered to assist in resolving issues and supporting the development of the sector. They also shared their experience in waste management and discussed the potential of generating energy through waste incineration. It was highlighted that effective waste and resource management can significantly reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 15 to 20 percent. The proposal for a 30-year investment period to construct a waste incineration plant in Uzbekistan was also discussed. After the meeting, the guests were introduced to the activities of the Republican Center for Organization of Sanitary Cleaning Works and the Central Department of Dispatch and Online Monitoring. Trips to Bukhara, Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan regions were also planned for the guests. The meeting was concluded by Mukhayyo Toshqorayeva, UzA.
