On March 20, 2025, a meeting was held in the city of Arkadag between O.Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, and Elizabeth Rood, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan. The meeting highlighted the significance of the Foundation’s work in developing international relations.
O.Atabayeva discussed the Foundation’s humanitarian goals and emphasized that, under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Foundation has provided great support to children in need of medical treatment.
The meeting also noted the Foundation’s expanding efforts to provide assistance and support to children in neighboring and partner countries. Ambassador Elizabeth Rood praised the Foundation’s work and expressed support for its continuation and success.
The meeting also discussed upcoming international events to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Foundation’s establishment. Ambassador Elizabeth Rood expressed the United States’ support for the Foundation’s work and its willingness to collaborate at the international level. O.Atabayeva mentioned the National Leader’s recommendation for the Foundation to work with specialized structures and international organizations, such as the UN Children’s Fund.
The meeting emphasized the importance of these tasks outlined by the National Leader and expressed confidence that their implementation will not only increase the Foundation’s prestige in the international arena, but also contribute to peace, humanistic principles, and friendship between countries.
It was also noted that the work being done in 2025, the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” holds particular significance.
