As part of the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan to China, the first conference on cooperation and exchange in trade, culture, and tourism was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. 
As reported earlier, in November 2023, the pavilion of Uzbekistan, “Registan Square”, was opened in Hongguang Park in Urumqi in partnership with the Tourism Committee and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. The first conference on cooperation and exchange in trade, culture, and tourism between Uzbekistan and China was held there.
The event highlighted the diverse cultural, tourism, and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan, as well as recent reforms implemented in the tourism sector.
