The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) announced on Monday that it will be dispatching a delegation to Washington this week to strengthen the business and trade ties between South Korea and the United States.
AMCHAM chairman James Kim will be leading the group on its annual “doorknock” visit from Tuesday to Thursday, where they will be meeting with around 30 officials from the White House, the Department of Commerce, and the State Department.
The delegation is also slated to meet Kurt Campbell, the national security council coordinator for Indo-Pacific affairs, at the White House, plus members of the U.S. Congress such as Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Todd Young (R-IN), among other senators and representatives.
AMCHAM has said that the delegation will be highlighting the “enduring robust U.S.-South Korea bilateral relationship” as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of their alliance this year.
