The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin hosted a roundtable discussion on the progress of reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and priority areas of development in 2024. The event, organized as part of the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation led by Feruza Eshmatova, the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights, to Germany, was attended by various individuals such as deputies of the Bundestag, members of the Germany-Uzbekistan Friendship Society, representatives from the business community, experts, journalists, and Uzbek citizens.
During the meeting, Ombudsman Eshmatova and other members of the delegation informed the attendees about the changes made to Uzbekistan’s Constitution, specifically regarding the protection of human rights. The focus was placed on the fundamental reforms being implemented in various areas and their importance in building a New Uzbekistan.
Mr. Schmidt, the Chairman of the Bundestag’s “Germany-Central Asia” parliamentary group, noted that Uzbekistan is rapidly developing and achieving an increase in the standard of living for its citizens, as well as creating favorable conditions for investors. He also expressed Germany’s willingness to support these reforms.
It is worth mentioning that such events serve to strengthen bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany. The visit of the parliamentary delegation to Germany to introduce the German side to the legislative changes and progress in creating a legal and socially strong state in Uzbekistan is of great importance. This will open up new opportunities for developing multilateral relations between the two countries.
