On September 2-4 of this year, a delegation from Uzbekistan consisting of the leaders and top analysts from ISRS, IMRS, IACIR, IICA, and the Bureau of Uzbekistan-Germany Business Cooperation, traveled to Berlin.

In Germany’s capital, the delegation held meetings and consultations with representatives from the offices of the Federal President and Federal Chancellor, the Federal Foreign Office, Federal Ministries for the Environment, Economic Cooperation and Development, the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, the political foundations of Konrad Adenauer and Friedrich Ebert, and various think tanks.

The discussions focused on fostering comprehensive practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, as well as multilateral interaction in the “Central Asia-Germany” format.

The experts thoroughly analyzed the process of regional cooperation in Central Asia and the current challenges facing the countries. German experts praised the efforts of the President of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian leaders in building good-neighborly and friendly relations that contribute to the stable and sustainable development of the region. This has resulted in Central Asia becoming an attractive and growing market, as well as a center for investment and political and economic activity.

The German side was also informed about the upcoming parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan, which will be held under a new mixed system aimed at strengthening the role of parties and parliament in the country’s socio-political life, as well as developing and implementing the domestic and foreign policy agenda.

Given the progress in collaboration, the experts focused on developing new ideas, recommendations, and proposals for further joint projects in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian sectors. Discussions also included opportunities in green development, renewable energy, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, technology transfer, innovation support, healthcare and education, and human capital development.

As a result of the visit, plans were made for enhancing scientific cooperation and conducting joint research. A schedule of important events on current international and regional issues was also agreed upon.
