The Malaysian television channels are currently airing a 10-episode documentary about Uzbekistan as part of their special Ramadan program “Syahadah”. The series highlights Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture, its significant contributions to Islamic civilization, and its unique traditions in decorative and applied arts and crafts. The documentary also showcases the country’s modern tourism and transportation infrastructure, which plays a crucial role in attracting international tourists.
The documentary was produced in 2024 by a creative team from Malaysia’s national broadcaster, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). Filming took place in various regions of Uzbekistan, including Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, and Khorezm.
The project was initiated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia and received support from the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee. Its goal is to improve the country’s image as a prominent center of Islamic civilization and encourage an increase in tourist visits to Uzbekistan.
