334 Individuals Granted Presidential Pardon

On the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s Constitution, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has issued a Decree pardoning a group of people serving a sentence in the form of deprivation of liberty. According to Article 109 of the Constitution, 334 people have been exonerated. 34 of them have been completely exonerated, 249 have been released on parole, and the punishment of 6 has been reduced. 18 of them are foreign citizens, 23 are women, 15 are over the age of 60, and 88 participated in prohibited organizations. The Decree also calls for the responsible ministries and agencies to help the pardoned individuals reintegrate into society and find employment.
